Facebook has exposed me time and again to people doing picture-a-day albums for an entire year. Some of themselves, some of their photography collections, etc.
...I'm a shitty photographer and not photogenic.
Music, however, is something I put that kind of energy into. Writing; same deal. That gave me an original thought... what if I write about a song every day!
Then I googled "song a day" and remembered the first rule of the internet: if you think you have an original idea, several hundred others have already had it. & ruined it, too.
But still! Sounds like fun, right?
Every day* I post a new song. There are 4 elements to every post:
What It's Called is exactly as the name implies, and clicking the name gives a link to somewhere (usually Grooveshark) where you can hear the tune for free online.
What's The Story explains some brief biographical information about the band and song in question.
Who's To Blame is the person who first told me about the track; I use objective descriptions rather than names because they're more fun to write and more fun to read.
Why ♥ It is a short-by-design blurb about why I love the song, and why I think you, the reader, should listen to it. Part of me envisions someone opening the song in a new tab and listening while they read, but that part of me is pretty vain.
One thing I want to make clear is that I'm not trying to be a critic. I'll occasionally say colorful things to spice up my wordings, but the point of this blog is to share music I love, not to review it. If a song is posted, I enjoy it, and I hope you do too.
